Students have until the stroke of midnight tonight on April 30 to apply for a summer internship job with the Palm Beach County School District’s Division of Support Services.

This is the ninth year the school district has offered summer internships, where students work four 10-hour days for a six week period between June 10 and July 18. Internships are available such as working in transportation helping mechanics work on buses, working with school district electricians and helping in the district’s real estate services office.

District spokeswoman Natalia Arenas said the positions are funded by donations so the district does not know yet which internships will be paid and which will be volunteer positions depending on the amount of donations received.

Students in 9th through12th grade at district high schools as well as current college students can apply at the Web site  by midnight tonight.

Anyone with questions can call School District Human Resources Analyst Judyann Terrell at (561) 687-7170 or e-mail her at Terrell said she hopes to have at least 20 open intership positions to offer to students this summer.
