MIAMI GARDENS — Coaches usually walk — at the most, speed-walk — to shake the hand of the opposing coach, but the energy coursing through Al Golden’s system made that impossible.
After the clock ran out on Miami’s 21-16 win over No. 12 Florida, he took off headlong toward the Gators’ sideline, orange tie a-flappin’, to greet his colleague Will Muschamp. It was the release he felt after earning a benchmark victory for his program, the signature win in his coaching career, and having the last word in a rivalry dating back to 1938.
