Rosie O’Donnell told a Miami/Fort Lauderdale radio station this week that the reason show sold her Miami-area home was because things had gotten too wild in her old Star Island neighborhood.
Appearing on the Paul Young Ron Morning Show on Big 105.9 and Real Radio 94.3 in West Palm Beach, the entertainer said she grew weary of the tour boats floating by her Miami Beach house and got totally fed up when The Real Housewives of Miami’s Lisa Hochstein bought the house across the street.
O’Donnell had owned the Star Island mansion for about 18 years, but started to look elsewhere, including Jupiter, where she considered buying Olivia Newton-John‘s Jupiter Inlet Colony house but being turned off when the builder committed suicide on the property.
That’s when Rosie and her family trekked across the state and looked in Sarasota, where they have friends. Rosie said she fell in love with the area and bought her new beachfront home.
“We’re still in Florida. I can’t get away from Florida, but Miami, as I get to be 51, was too crazed for me,’’ she said.
